Earlier this year, Roger Federer decided to cut down on clay court tournaments to focus on being healthy for the Grand Slams. He initially announced that he will not be part of the tournament but today decided he will make his ninth appearance to ATP Tournament's first clay court tournament for the season by accepting a wild card.

After pushing Nadal to a gruelling five hour match at the 2009 Australian Open earlier this year, Fernando Verdasco may have lost the semi-final match but gained the tennis world's attention with his surprising physical endurance against Worlds # 1 and his wins against Andy Murray and Jo-Wilfred Tsonga. But more than that, his oozing sex appeal exploded after he proved he could compete agains the best of the best.
